Protecting Poly - Pseudonym Project

Brief
The Pseudonym Project
Using your ‘pseudonym’ proposition:

a. Define your message.

b. Define your audience.

c. Research which (3 or more) platforms can work together to help you get your message across in the most effective way to your target audience

d. Create a 5-10 minute ‘Prezi’ to illustrate what your strategy will be and why.

Ideas
This is a sample of work from my first year project where I created a pseudonym character, who goes by the name of Poly Ethylene, in order to encourage plastic recycling.  Firstly I identified the problem - Plastic is not biodegradable, therefore it always exists, crowding our landfills and polluting our oceans. They can be liken to ‘urban tumbleweeds’ floating around causing harm to the environment. Almost 400 bags per second are used, and barely any are recycled. This is the case for many items.

Result
I hope to change these statistics with the help of mums! I want to help people be more aware of the situation and educate how they can creativity do their bit for the environment from the comfort of their homes.

On the bags will be QR codes which allow people to scan the code using a smart phone or tablet.
When the code is scanned it takes you to an online world of tips and ideas for getting more creative with the way we reduce, reuse and recycle.
The more crafts and ideas you complete on the website, you earn Poly Points. These points are designed to help encourage people to keep visiting the site and to keep creating. A point system will work great with kids as they will want to beat their friends. When you reach a certain amount of points, you can unlock prizes, for example one of the bags from Poly’s range.  To win points you have to upload an image of your design. There will be a hub of people, uploading, sharing and commenting on designs. You win 10 points per design. All designs are processed before points are awarded.
The GPS of the smartphone can be located when using the app. With this feature Poly can measure where the most eco friendly places are. The more times you scan the code the more green your area becomes on the map. This is an added incentive to people who like a bit of competition.
Poly's facebook account allows the audience to interact and share with Poly and with the rest of the like minded community. They can upload their ideas, as well as enter competitions. There will be a daily update of content on her page.
